It's hard to tell from your pic, can you see claws in the mud or not?

That was my thought as well. Hard to truly tell with two tracks overlapping like that but if I don't see The Telltale obvious claw marks you'd expect to see in that deep of a mud print if it was a dog of some sort.

No claw/toenail marks, this was a couple miles away from the nearest road, every yote track I’ve seen in mud like that had the nail marks...

That's a cat.

There are many cats in western ND and they walk not fly. So they leave tracks.

They look to be to small for a cat. A mountain lion paw is 3-5 inches on average so in the mud you would expect even wider. That appears to be more so around the 2 inch mark. Which would be too large for a bobcat. I would say coyote.

No claws and the main pad looks lobular like feline to me. Id vote lion tracks. Badlands?

I haven't seen or heard of a lion in Morton county for a few years, but it wouldn't surprise me that there is some.
