Has anybody heard of this cartridge or actually build or shot one. I'm currently gathering parts to build one. Hoping to have it operating by early February.

Pretty impressive ballistics out of a 16 or 18 inch ar15 platform

Here is some beginning info on the round

Slightly better performance than the old .35Remington. AR platform offers an upgrade in reliability and accuracy over a Rem 8/81.

Ok. I've got a question for the peanut gallery. Ive got the hankering to build another ar15 and I got all the basic parts to build most of it. I've got several 556, a 25/45 Sharps, and a 7.62x39. Should I build this next or a .224 Valkyrie?

Not where I'd like to be
Valkyrie is the sexy choice right now for long range in the AR15 platform, but I guess it depends on what your goals are for the gun.

This 358 is kind of on the other end of the spectrum. I see it mostly as a short-range hammer like the 450 Bushmaster, etc.
It won't fit through my 30 cal suppressor, so I'm out.

From what I have seen the yeti is a capable 350-400 yard cartridge in the right hands. My intentions for this round is 250 yards or less for deer. There is a company who makes a 150 grain 358 diameter bullet which would allow this to be a bit flatter shooting gun. There is a talk forum based off the link I posted above with more ballistic info and talk between others who have build and tested this round.

250 yards or less and I'm using my 6.8 spcII. I did however just finish a Valkyrie this week.
