I’m helping my 85 year old father n law try fill his cow elk tag. He gets around pretty good but not badlands hiking good. It will be kinda a long shot finding him one in a somewhat of a flat area. I have a few connections in the E2 more rugged stuff but that’s not much good in this situation. E2 opens October 4 I believe but E5 opens sept 6 Weekend. We will be out west a few different times throughout the season scouting and hunting. But I guess what I’m asking is if there is random sightings in the Open unit in the state or any info on some elk I’d appreciate it. He’s pretty excited just to get out hunting again so either way it will be a good time. Thanks.

I was out west with my Wife as she had team building classes in Medora. I was out there for 4 days and drove around a lot. The Elk I found were not in the traditional spots where I have seen Elk before. I seen lots of Elk East of the park where I have never seen them before.

Hope you find him one.
