Seems like most retailers are now able to keep 22 ammo in stock and prices have also dropped. Is the run on ammo done until trump is out of office? I have seen 500 rounds for $20 is that the best price we will see now a days or do you guys think it will drop lower? I plan to stock up but want to wait for the best price.

In all reality though it doesn’t take much for us to burn through 500-1000 rounds.
you can trust them with your woman just not your waypoints

I agree, Stock up at this price and if they go lower give yourself a bonus and stock up some more. 4 of our Grandkids are old enough to shoot now and before long there will be 7 of them plinking away. The only way they will all get to shoot a bunch is if Grandpa has a bunch of shells he needs to get shot up.

Yep, Shells go fast plinking at steel but once they get honed in and have a few giggles and confidence built then I'll slow them down and get them on paper. Did that with my boys and on paper they would split a box of shells and shoot @ 50' light rifle targets with 5 shots at 5 targets and take as much time as needed. To slow them down even more I had them spot each others shots. Surprising how fast they zero in on the 10 ring when there is some serious competition.
One kid shooting alone is happy and proud to shoot all over the paper but with competition for a penny a point makes them give it 100%. Sometimes it took them a couple hours to shoot a box of shells.

That sounds a lot like, "why do you need ALL those guns isn't 3 enough"?
I like to plink, shoot squirrels and rabbits and some days I just use a 22 to hone my shooting skills.
I've got an old tire with a piece of plywood in it, we staple a target to the plywood then roll it. As it rolls by we shoot at the target, that really helps with shooting a moving target instead of standing one.
When we do this the worst shot buys either breakfast or lunch so in addition to honing shooting skills you can get a free meal too.

I can still remember picking up those Federal 550 round value packs for $10.
It was a simpler time.

Me too, gone fishing. Even bricks of 1000 for less than ten bucks. But figuring in inflation from those times, 20 bucks a brick nowadays isn’t bad and the ammo now is likely better. Think we all cut our shootingmteeth in the .22!
Like Lycan I tend to stock up on the .17 HMR, especially the A17 stuff, though the regular fodder works OK.
Never know when supplies could be cut off. You NEVER have too much ammo.

Remember it for $5 per 500, at Woolworths, in Kirkwood Mall. What is now Target. I also remember buying broadheads there, and I was 10 yrs old.
Let's see a 10 yr old kid walk into Scheels and buy broadheads now...
And in spite of it, I still have all my fingers and toes, and never killed anything I didn't mean to..
Best time of year to buy a new...
