Looking to buy a quality meat slicer for home use. I looked at some lower priced units and am not sure they would stand up to even home use. Need some suggestions and your experiences with slicers. Thanks.
I have a 15 year old Rival that we used quite often back in the day for cutting up chunks of meat for jerkey mostly. Haven't used it much lately. Have used it to cut hams and tangy into sandwich meat. Works well for our use still today.
We have an old Rival slicer as well that has held up quite nicely while slicing several hundred pounds of food each year from block cheeses to whole hams to lunch meats and venison jerky. No problems.
We have one of the $100 LEM slicers from Scheels.. works pretty good. I use it for slicing while muscle jerky, and also when I make roast beef lunch meat. Slices paper thin just how we like it.
