Just wanted to share some sad news from last week. I had to put Buck down, he had been battling some cancer and went downhill very quickly, but he did make it 1 day past his 15th Birthday!! He'll be greatly missed by our family that's for sure. Definitely not easy saying good bye to our furry friends.

Sorry Nanky. It's a tough deal to lose "a family member". Just lost a 12 yr old chocolate lab female myself. Never easy. Just remember all the good memories and all the pix you've taken of that great dog! I always enjoyed those pix.

I'm really sorry to hear you had to put Buck to sleep. It's always been one of the toughest things that a person has to do.

The good news is that Buck is pain free and in a much better place. I believe dogs have a great place to go, lots of grass, trees, water and other dogs to play with. I'm sure he's playing with Rufus, Fred, Brown, Lew and all the other great dogs from here.

You have 15 years of great memories and adventures with Buck and your family. If you're like me you'll be telling stories and looking at pics of him forever.

I took Browns ashes across country with me and scattered a little at all the places he loved to visit. The rest are on the bookcase in the gun room.

That's an awesome picture. Next to my family, my dogs are my life and I don't even hunt with them.

English Setters are some of the best for upland. Nanky, tough deal but get back on the horse. It's getting harder to find people who raise them.

Berg Brothers in Rogers Minnesota. You won't go wrong.

If it's any help, your pictures of that dog over the years have been outstanding, some of the best. He was beautiful animal!!! Clearly a great pet who could hunt up some roosters as well. My condolences.

Tough deal for sure and I feel your pain. I had to put my buddy down a month ago and it still hurts. Think about him multiple times everyday. Man's best friend for sure.
