Yes Good Post. I drug a huge tree off the middle of DL a few years ago and released it in the bay South of the casino , It was a killer if you had a fast boat. I damn near hit it but I was going slow enough that it would have only been a wrecker.

When the lakes (OAHE & SAK) was young, and the water came up, there were huge logs and every size smaller to bark floating.

Velveeta.... minus the ET
It was fully waterlogged, Damn they pull hard .

Well the couple I saw were not floating very high outta the water..... is ther anything someone can do to mark the logs with flags, like the ones used to push in the ground when they mark for underground wires? Just trying to think of something for guys that see a log could turn around quick and mark it. Besides having to drag logs to shore. Maybe tie a milk jug to it? Idk

Iv'e saw 5 gallon buckets on them on Sakakawea . Be nice if someone would invent a simple hammer and staple flag system that insurance companies would give away.

Lincoln, kinda...
Yep, there are some dandy logs floating, and some that are neutral buoyant. The latter are scary as hell when you're up on plane.

Lots of logs and branches floating in shell creek today. Wind was from the southwest blowing right into the bay.

hey mort - will have to introduce u to the new ride here pretty soon...

got a new nirto zv 18 with relatively small bells and quiet whistles - but so far, so good...

it can leap driftwood in a single bound... with only moderate damage...

This entire thread is why I don't go over 30 mph with my boat. I CAN'T SEE those darn logs and other crap in time to do anything if I go any faster. Worst thing I've almost hit while on plane was a floating picnic table in DL. Talk about neutral buoyant and a boat wrecker.
