So this winter I was thinking about how every time my wife and I plan or attempt to go fishing together something comes up or just doesn't work out. She has never caught catfish before and I really have not went muddin for them for many years so I came up with an idea. Just book a little trip with Captain Brad and go enjoy ourselves, so that's what we did and decided it would be a good birthday present to ourselves (birthday only 5 days apart and went during mine).
In my opinion the trip lived up to what I hoped for to my wife and I plus so much more in different ways. The number of fish boated I doubt anyone would complain about, the style of fishing along with the knowledge and attitude and drive was great in our opinion, and finally something that can easily overlooked is just the relaxed environment of sitting back at short times and just shooting the breeze and trading stories and laughing (Brad has many by the way). Here are some pics of the outing. 20170805_175841.jpgWifes first catfish she held, let 1 or 2 go

20170805_201306.jpgWith a sunset finish we both would like to thank Captain Brad for the experience and memories we now have. My wife will really not forget or let me forget that she caught the biggest fish, caught a tagged fish, and reeled in the most fish.
Considering Sunday was my birthday I would say that I could not have asked for much better on the water and for me just seeing my wife pull fish and good fish at that for the first time in almost 4-5 years and get the enjoyment is really what this trip meant for me.
If the wife has anything to say about it we will be coming back. Best of luck to the Captain the rest of the season.

Thanks for the detailed report of your trip. Great to hear you enjoyed yourself, made memories, and gave Brad the review he deserves for being a part of it. Happy birthday to both of you! Awesome trip!

Thanks. It was a great time. Now getting a first hand at how side imaging can be used was another neat experience, even found a pair of wagon wheels, just so cool

It was a fun trip. Two sections of river, two ways of fishing and both worked. I am glad you had a good time and a good Birthday.

BTW, that kid told me he was sorry for killing our bite, will until I thanked him for making us move and get on fish again.
