Deer with a growth?

So what the hell is this? Is it a growth, cancer, or a massive infection? I had a pic of a buck last year with a couple small things like this. This thing looks to be about 4 or so inches and looks pretty freaking raw.

It's a papilloma. Shoot the deer, trim it away, consume. Check out the NDGF website Wildlife Diseases (I can't get the link to save and be able to post)

Ya know, I bet if you brined that sucker for a couple days and seasoned it real good before a nice, long, slow smoke, it would taste just like -- naw...naw...I just can't go there.
