I seen one in runnings for $399, fleet farm always has a cheap one --- Are any of them worth buying - just to plink a few and mainly store in gun cabinet 99.99999% of its life.

as long as it goes bang, id guess so. dpms oracle or a cheap RRA arent terrible guns. can build pretty cheap ones that are better quality from palmettostatearmory.com

I think nodak arms in Minot makes a decent gun for around $600. I don't have first hand experience with them, but haven't heard anything bad about them.

If you just want to go out and blast through a few clips now and then they are fine, then you get over that and either want to make them into something worthwhile or the thing sits in the gun cabinet.

palmettostatearmory.com daily or weekly specials. generally better deals on better parts than buying the gun whole from someone. sort of addicting.

I would stay away from some of the cheap ones with plastic lowers. I would also stay away from Anderson arms.

DPMS oracle are great guns and the best of the bargain AR's imho

The Polymer lowers have been around for a long time. They function very well. I would not be scared of them one bit.

Look at the amount of handguns made from polymer and dont forget the pmags.

Lincoln, kinda...
Glocks suck, they barely hurt whatever you throw them at.

Oh, and not to be too obvious with my thread derailment, I recommend all ARs if all you're wanting to do is burn through some ammo. Fun guns to plink around with, but I've long since gone the route of single shot accuracy over spray and pray.

Whichever one you get, please take it down to the Mandan gun range with a pickup box full of rounds, several dozen mags and see how fast you can pull the trigger. Over and over again. The other people there trying to shoot will appreciate it, and be marveled by your awesomeness.

What else are you supposed to do with an assault rifle? :;:stirthepot

Buy these things:

http://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-...lonite-freedom-upper-no-bcg-or-ch-507280.html
http://palmettostatearmory.com/free...-group-with-carpenter-158-bolt-516446915.html
http://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-ar15-m16-7075-t6-forged-mil-spec-charging-handle-24080.html

This has to be shipped to an FFL. Transfers are typically $20.

Now all you need is an optic of your choice.

Edit: If you want to stick with iron sights, go on ebay and search for “Matech” rear sight. This is the standard issue sight for US military and it’s awesome. They’re about $40-50 shipped and nothing else comes close in that price range.
