Anyone have this engine in a 250 Super Duty? I’m looking for general comments on towing, overall performance, and normal non-towing MPG. I’m considering this over the diesel. Thanks for any info shared!

Yep I do.

ive towed up to 10,000 and it handles it great. Plenty of get up and go.

average mpg of city and hwy has been 12.5. Have been able to get 16/17 on hwy empty. If I’m pushing a strong wind it won’t be that high.

I had one in a work truck i put about 50,000 miles on in about a year in a 250 crew long box. Mostly highway driving with some towing bigger loads on gooseneck trailers. Pulled pretty good obviously since a gasser it downshifts a lot going thru hills or anything like that. I think my mileage empty was around 12-14mpg. they may get a little better like i said it was my company pickup so i didn't pay for fuel and mostly drove it like i stole it lol. But never had any troubles with it or anything. My wife also had one in a 350 short box got around 12 mpg all the time but luckily she came to her senses and traded it in on a Chevy before we got married.

Thanks! Getting close to pulling the trigger. Probably going to have to order to get what I want. Any dealer recommendations? Anywhere in ND is fine. Farther if it’s worth it.

If you will be doing alot of towing I would go with the diesel. I had the 6.2 in a Raptor it was a good engine and always got 14-15 mpg and I was very heavy on the pedal. I would get 16-17 on a trip where I could use the cruise and not race every single person on the road. Pulled really good also.

Im driving one right now. Got it with 130,000 on it. Have 147000 on it now, rides way rougher than my 250 diesel, gets worse mileage, and is not one I would buy again. However haven’t pulled anything with it, just use it to call on clients around western ND on country roads. I have a F150 on order, tired of the ride being so rough being I don’t pull with this one. If I was pulling often I would use a diesel, love my 2012 F250 6.7 liter

You need the vehicle that Ford Motor Company uses when they need to get the job done.
