Which do you prefer? I'm looking at vortex vipers but can't decide which size to go with. 4 oz difference in weight. Mainly using these for deer and coyotes.

Try them before purchasing is always good advice. Increase power from 8-10-12 and you are going to require more stability when viewing. Increase in power also means an increase in shaking or vibration when looking through the lens. Only you can answer how steady you are.

Increase in the size of the front lens such as going from 10X35 to 10X42 to 10X50 means your pair of binoculars with bigger numbers will draw more light with better visibility under low-light conditions. It will also make them bigger clumsier, and heavier. Again it comes down to personal choice.

When trying out binoculars it's a good idea to take them outside under less than optimal conditions. When conditions are poor is when the good binoculars shine.

I've got 2 pairs of 10x42's, they work really well for what I do. One is Swarovski the other Gold Ring Lepolds.

I have a pair of 7x50 Nikons that work well for daytime glassing from the Willys or camp. They are heavier than hell though so I don't like carrying them all day. I have a pair of 8x32 Bruntons that live in the glove box of my Willys, they're great for a quick look while you're out cruising around.

For me it was a compromise between super low light binoculars and something I could hold for long periods of time and have slung around my neck all day.

Out of those two choices it would be silly not to get the 10x50

Depends on if you ride in the pickup or you do lots of hiking. 10x50s if you ride in the pickup and 10x42s if you walk often. A bulky bino sucks when you are walking
