Porcupine Bay access?

Guess I'm just curious if you can access porcupine bay on the Mandan side from the highway. Is there a road that leads to the water or is it all fenced off? Thanks men!

As of last winter you can. Not sure if that has changed over the course of the summer.

I'm not sure that access point is 100% legal. If it's the access south of the bridge that I think is being referred to.

In other words Sum, it's not on a section line or immediately off of the public roadway. I could be wrong.

Not sure if that access is legal but it is being used.

I wouldn't worry, just drive through the open gate right south of the bridge. You should be able to find your way to the ice without much problem. I seen a guy parked on the ice today as I drove across Porcupine creek bridge.

no fish being caught there!!! pressure ridges, thin ice, current and the abominable snowman like to mess with your tip ups. I would stay away

just a heads up sum. the ice was all busted up in the mouth. wind musta blew all the chunks from the main lake into the bay before freeeze up. about a 1/4 mile worth of chunks all filled in with sand from the winds so bring extra blades with you when you go. rougher then hell when i was there 3 weeks ago.
