A mountain lion was killed Monday night north of Bismarck.
Joe Morrisette III was out deer hunting Monday night near Double Ditch when he shot the mountain lion with his bow from 15 yards.
The North Dakota Game and Fish said the male mountain lion is a year and half old, weighed in at 101 pounds and is just under 6 feet long.
Morrisette III is taking the mountain lion to a taxidermist.

Can you imagine that tree-climbing beast 15 yds below you in a tree stand? Wow....lifetime moment.

They had trail camera pics of it the week before dragging a deer it had just killed.
He shot it last night from his deer stand and it only made it 30 yds, not bad for your FIRST bowkill ever! Crazy!
Super jealous! Ha ha
He also stopped by the local school to show the kids on the way to the G&F, pretty darn cool.

Yikes. I spend a fair amount of time fishing not far (across the river though) from Double Ditch.

And here I've only been keeping a lookout for Pennywise the Dancing Clown.

Any time you shoot a critter that is above you in the food chain with a stick, you got to have balls.

I know they come through our area over here on occasion and have thought more than once going in or out in the dark about what if. Congrats to the hunter and hopefully the mount turns out well, going to be a great story for years to come.

Unless you got a weapon a lot of good those thumbs are gonna do, maybe the kitty will just munch on those? ;)

Imagine, just for one second, sitting in that tree stand and catching the first sight of that mountain lion! You are in a tree... they can climb trees... you have no gun in your possession... THEY CAN CLIMB TREES... Ho*$@ Sh$(@

Notch the arrow and draw back. THEY CAN CLIMB TREES... Ho*$@ Sh$(@

What if I miss, or deflect off of a branch? THEY CAN CLIMB TREES... Ho*$@ Sh$(@

I wonder how Cat Fever compares to Buck Fever? I'd think I would shake right out of the damn tree after that. Wow. Congrats to the hunter. Do you have to have a special tag for that?
