Had two come into my decoys last year but didn't shoot. The North Dakota Proclamation says that it must have a beard in order to be legal. It also says that hens sometimes will have a beard too. I mostly hunt for the meat and personally think the younger birds are alot more tender than an old gobbler. Anybody have an opinion on this?

I don't think you read it correctly.

"[h=2]Bag Limit[/h]Each license holder may take and possess one bearded or male wild turkey per license. "

If it's got a beard shoot it. Even jakes have about a 2inch beard this time of year. Sometimes they are hard to see but they are there.

Yes jakes are legal.

they will most likely respond to calling, come running in like raptors jump on the decoy. Haha
but they are certainly legal.
Good luck!

All this talk of covid-19 makes me forget that season is right around the corner. Better set the blind up see if the Mrs can’t smoke it with the stick and string again this year

I have two really big toms hanging around my place if anyone is interested. No girls with them so should decoy pretty easy.
