Was excited to learn of the pure strain being re-introduced. According to the G&F most of the first introduction has "disappeared" if I'm not mistaken, there MAY be an old gal lurking from the first attempt but not likely. Surely those things would have reproduced or hybridized...Anyways, when I was really into these fish back in the Hills, they stocked my river with all three pike species and now to the best of my knowledge, the pure strain is king. Isn't there a spawning conflict with P/M which gives the northern the upper hand? Wouldn't the GF have to stock enough muskie to choke out pike to create a viable fishery?
