Have the elk started yet? Was out for the opener and everything was quiet.

If there's elk in the area you should at least be hearing things right at dusk and dawn, regardless if they're getting after chasing cows or not. I spent a couple days in WY unit 116, in the forest service stuff. Didn't hear a bugle or even see any old elk sign. Would expect response bugles at dark this time of year if there are elk around.

I was hunting speed goats south of Rhame last weekend and the bulls in the high-fence hunting operations out there were bugling like crazy in the morning. Really cool to hear. I actually saw a pretty nice bull south of Rhame near some PLOTS land. I assume he was trying to get at the cows in the high fence area. If you're in that area, I'm sure he's out there and would be worth your time. He seemed really lost -- just wandering around aimlessly.
