While trying to pull my jig out of a snag, it broke. Its the Walleye GLX WJR752S. Medium fast action.

Has anyone any advice on how to go about getting it replaced. Do I take it back to where I purchased it or contact the company?

Had a buddy that found a G Loomis in a car in a junk yard. Sent it to G Loomis and he had to pay around $200 to get the new version. Of a $400 rod. If it's pretty new i'd check with the store 1st.

I just looked at warranty form. Scheels must be copping your 120 as replacement is free with the exception shipping

Scheels charged $120 for shipping? That must be how they can build all those multi-million dollar stores.

Thanks for the replies. It seems, after checking with the vendor, all I have to do is send it to G-Loomis with a $20 check for shipping. I plan on contacting G-Loomis as well, but not sure how fast this will all happen?

The rod was not defective I just broke it pinched it with the 5th wheel when I had the camper hooked up. I know 20 went to shipping and I'll have to see about the other 100 mabey I'll call Loomis to check and see.

That's what I thought would happen. Not real happy but not much I can do now.

I am assuming you marked snag ---- its interesting but I believe the warranty has changed (more so than scheels). IMO GLoomis is just another rod; now with a $120 co pay on the warranty evidently and owned by shimano. I am glad this came up --- like I said on mine -- they upgraded me and I marked mine as hook set. I would probably have some reservations buying one in the future if the warranty is being cheapoed.

When you buy new you get a ace of spades card good for 1 free replacement.... Well I lost my card.....

The no questions replacement was being abused so it's a new system. I've seen the g loomis ace of spades cards for sale on EBay ...

I have returned 4 or so rods at Bismarck Scheels. Always good to work with and I cannot complain about a $20 replacement rod.

For future reference, don't snap your rod like you are setting the hook to get out a snag. Hold your reel from spinning and pull straight back in line with the rod. Snapping your rod up and down to get out a jig is a sure fire way to break your rod.
