Researching to get a new semi auto shotgun.
I have notice that most of them have a capacity of 5 shells...4+1
Proclamation says gun can only hold 3 shells.
Do most semi autos come with a plug to comply with the 3 shell capacity?

Reading on specs of certain guns I cannot find any information as to whether you can buy a plug for the said gun.
Anybody got info on this?

mine did, actually came with 2 plugs to restrict at 2, 3, or leave it out and hold 4.

I would guess they likely all come with them

I have a M12 plugged with a stick. It's no big deal to buy one.

I believe all new repeater shotguns have to come with a mag plug to comply with Federal migratory bird hunting laws.

Then why do they advertise the 4 +1 capacity when they know the regs against having that many in the gun when in the field???? Just sayin.....

That's basically what's in the M12. I bought it in GA and believe it's a pecan twig. Someone took a lot of time with it many years ago.

3 shot limit applies to migratory birds, but most states do not have limits for upland, turkey, varmits, home invaders, liberals, etc... that is one reason it is removalble, loseable and replaced with a dowel, pencil, etc... Ohio required it for deer season, too many guys lobing 1 oz chunks o lead every which way. Saw some guys from Ontario with tube extensions before the rule change. A foster style slugs makes an interesting sound as it buzzes overhead then smacks a tree behind you.

I'm sure that they all come standard to meet the regs, my beretta, I was told, would have too be removed by a gunsmith if I wanted it out, special tool?? They are capable of 5 due to design, no plugs needed for spring snow goose or defense. I had a buddy get sited once for his 870 w/ mag extension and his fine at that time was only $20, not sure if that's changed but would be nice once in a while for geese haha

In fact Mort, the plug will be installed if you get a Remington.
