What kind of fly's are you tying for the Missouri River?

Just purchased my first fly tying vise and tools. Should be here next week!
I wanna target trout and walleye on the river? Not sure what kind of flys to try and start tying? Any help appreciated. Thanks

ps-will target carp to in summer in the bays on sak! what flys you using there as well thanks!

What svnmag said. Have a guy who moved here from Missoula who is a diehard fly fisherman. He has had some luck with streamers but for the most part he has been completely frustrated.

Not sure about Trout but I would assume streamers, for Walleye I've had luck with big clouser minnows in pink/white and the yellow/white ones. Leech patterns also work well. The gummy minnow has always caught my eye but I have yet to try it.

Yes, pearl gummy minnows, any white, pearl, irredescent smelt imitations, and black or olive wooly buggars. The woolys work well for carp to.

If you're in Bismarck, Dakota tackle has a good selection of materials. Not compared to Bozeman, but... for hackle, etc, they have it.
