I've have had decent luck with the typical rubber slip-ons.

But are there any that are way superior? That never ever slip off, have HEEL traction (I've lost it on heels a number of times carrying auger), etc? Always fun to go looking for the one that slipped off in deep snow.

Seems like even at $50-$60 bucks (if any are even that expensive) it's really cheap insurance against a broken wrist, tailbone, elbow, or wrenched back. (sorry dirty)

I'm tempted by the boots with screws/spike - but would hate walking into gas stations, restaurants, etc. with golf spikes on. (I am not a sconi)

They fit just fine over my mucks. Didn't have to wear them much last year with all the snow. I think mine are black.

I have a set of Yaktrax and really like them. There are times when I wish I had a more aggressive set but I like the fact that I can jump in and out of my truck and not worry about tearing up the floor mats and whatnot.

My little buddy Rob took an ass kicking at the skunk bay Rooster Run ice derby a couple years back. His feet went over his head as he landed square (entire body weight) on the back of his head on the lake. I ran over to make sure he was still breathing and conscious. He was, but it took him a few minutes to clear his head and pick himself up off the ice. He spent the rest of the winter seeing a physical therapist.

Ever since then I pack cleats with, was something I sure didn't want to have happen to me.

holy cow - $60-$70??? Screw that.

IMO it is worth it gay. I have struggled with cheap ones for years and they always fall off. The spendy ones above allow me to run on ice and they dont fall off. Especially at your age, you dont want to break a hip. #cheapinsurance

I've used yak trax pros for years. They have a starp that prevents them coming off and rub $30.
