What's the best mask? (assuming it ever gets really cold again)

This one looks like it would "pre-warm" your breath so it doesn't hurt to breath.

Remember the smell/taste of those knit facemasks we wore in the 70s? I would constantly nibble on the bottom edge of the mouth hole - I have no idea why. Maybe to defeat constant ice up.

70's? hell i wore one in the 90's still. They did get a strange odor to them after playing outside.

if its cold enough to have to wear a facemask fishing, i will be firmly planted in the ice house

I assume you're looking for face protection for women or children as men just grow beards.

While my nose hairs are luxurious in loft and number - they are not sufficient enough to do a Trump comb over to protect my considerable beak.

I'm with wags on this. If my little under armour balaclava doesn't cut it anymore, I'm in the shack or on my way home.

I will take on any comers in a nose hair yank contest. 15 in one pull is not a problem.

Polor Buff is my beak and face protector. Love it, just ordered another cause I hid my original in too good a spot.

That first one makes ya look like a Quarren, would get ya into a Star Wars convention I think. (I had to look it up, haha)

If there are no budget constraints, an ice castle should do the trick. Otherwise I still find the knit ones useful.
