Checked it against some lakes I know and its seems to be spot on atleast for now. It even knew that the ice at my folks place was only around one inch.

I posted this in another thread but saw 2 sloughs that were previously froze solid ( no waterfowl using them) opened back up today. one was 2-3 vehicle sized opening the other was prolly 2-3 football fields. waterfowl have definitely found the open water now as well. ice looks sketchy as hell and honeycombed from my travels

In the area I have been fishing it was over 3 inches off. 3+ more inches than it said there was.

If it is gonna be off I would it rather be off by saying only this and there is more then the other way. If that is the trend then I like it, if off the other way, ouch

It said about half the thickness the ice was today but still a neat idea. Can't see myself using it on a regular basis though.
