My brother and I are thinking about heading to MN for the eelpout festival this winter. Anyone ever gone? Just trying to get a feel for the experience and what to expect. It seems like a good time.

Tongue razors, Ibuprofen, and an armor plated liver are all recommended items.

I've never caught a burbot, so I actually would like to focus on fishing.

It's Wefest on ice. If you're serious about fishing, reconsider the festival.

Yeah if are serious about fishing prolly not the place to be haha. Been there 8-9 times and wet a line once and that was a rattle reel in a drunken stooper at 3am. I'm sure there is diehard fisherman but I go to have fun not to fish

I've caught some decent ones of the wingwalls in very early spring.

Was surprised they have a mouth like a bass.

Not as strong as a cat. You can lip them easily. I thought they'd have teeth like a bowfin.
