Audubon Refuge Ice Fishing Update

When ice fishing on Lake Audubon, caution is advised. This photo was taken at the NE ice access point on Audubon National Wildlife Refuge. Warm weather and winds are degrading the ice quality and the ice access is becoming very muddy and rutted up. PLEASE USE CAUTION AND COMMON SENSE!

50+ degrees in Bismarck all afternoon. That sun hitting the rocks along access points will quickly melt. I wouldn't have a truck or ice-house sitting on that lake for nothin'!

ATV and portables are probably best from here on out. Forecast has forties next week, too.

It is opening up down here big time. i am done ice fishing i am past the days of using extension ladders and 2 x12 as bridges to the ice

Is that open water below the casino that I can see on the satellite?

open all the way from the water plant to smiths point which is what you are seeing by the casino

what I notice the most is the river after ice out is dirty for a week because of the run-off but not this year so far ( Fish on)
