Has anyone used fluorocarbon for leaders for pike fishing? I was thinking of buying some 30lb test and try using that for leaders but I don't know if it is enough. Any info would be great. thanks!

This. I think I use 40, maybe 50lb test for my bite tippet. Double it over so if I lose one side, I still have the other to get a fish in or get my fly back so I can retie.

30lb helps drastically, but it is not bite proof. I would say a minimum of 40-50 would be a start.

Why not just use titanium? The problem with fluorcarbon and pike is that even if they dont bite through they will knick it up and when you get that big walleye on it will snap off.

I use 20 to 30# fluoro for finicky clear water pike and check it for damage after each fish. If all I'm casting for is pike and they're biting real aggressive and the water isn't too clear I just use wire.

Its funny you mention "finnicky pike". I have noticed on several occasions where the pike are finnickier then walleyes while ice fishing. Unless gin clear i also think that titanium virtually disappears in water.
