I was on Sak on Sunday (north of Beulah) so not exactly the location u were looking at, points were open, but sill fished on 15" of ice.. shore lines were a little sketchy but were fine walking on all day.

I saw the people near the embankment as well. musta be 20 of them. open water near the islands with geese sitting on them as well as just the beginning of that pressure ridge opening up with water. this was Saturday evening. this was my view from 83 going 70mph so not much help.

Drove over the embankment today. 1 Otter flipover about 100 yds on the north side of the pressure ridge.

Man by this weekend its going to be nothing short of Russian roulette out there. The warm temp last night did huge damage to the marshes I was near this morning so by sat most everywhere around here is bound to be on its last legs.

With the lows barely freezing and highs of 55 plus it's bye bye time for the ice.

Im putting the ice auger away. The ice never did get thick even on northern lakes. I was still driving on with the pickup last weekend as the ice was still good but my gut tells me to just get my little boat out and plunk that in somewhere.

Ifor your boat has legs the main lake on oahe is opening fast. A guy could launch out of rice and head south to avoid the crowds barring to much wind. Looks like the ice line is between beaver and cattail but the bays are still froze for now. Would have to think cattail would open fast once the line gets there.
