It works. I chrono'd several rifles with one today. Only 1 rifle gave a surprise reading, My 257Wby was ~150fps faster than I anticipated (3810fps vs. 3665fps), going to check it again during a different range session. Everything else was within 30-50fps of what my old green Chrony read under good light conditions. I had 1 non-read each from my 223AI and 22-250, both were 75gn A-max's that's out of 25 shots between the 2 rifles. A friend showed up and it read 9 of 10 shots from his .20 Practical. Bullet diameters of .243, .257, .277, .284, .308, and .375 all read without missing a beat. 6 brand new AA batteries showed 50% life left after a 3hr range session. It's stupid simple to set up and use as well.

I like things that are easier to set up/align and don't require "ideal light conditions". It's also mighty nice to not have to bother other shooters by being out in front of the shooting line diddling with alignment.

That and my father in law can't shoot it my chrony has a .284 hole in it but still works.. Me and the boy went to the range and shoot his 243 with the 58 vmax thinking they were cooking along right at 38ish. Nice having a range with a roof to shoot in the rain.

$559 for the chrono, $40 for the case, after today I just ordered the $25 rechargeable battery as well. One could use up $25 worth of AA's in a hurry.

Well they know what they want for that.

True, but, what's it worth to build a good accurate multi-session data set without having to worry about trying to find similar light AND wind conditions? How about have a piece of gear that ISN'T a giant pain in the ass to use? It's roughly the same price as an Oheler 35P which is the gold-standard of ballistic chronographs and an even gianter pain in the ass to use than my little Chrony was.
