How close is the I-Pilot Spot Lock supposed to hold the boat? I have heard within 5 feet. Mine is not even close to that and the longer it is on Spot Lock the wider the gyrations of the Terrova.

I have no been impressed with spot lock on my ipilot. Doesn't hold as well as advertised and can't pick a damn direction to hold the bow. I mainly use mine to hold near reeds and would be nice for my boat to at least aim the same way

Yes the spot lock feature is not that great on lakes. It works good in current but if you don't have current or strong wind the head will go all over. You do stay in one spot but your boat may go in circles. Oh well I still love my i-link.

It'sa 5' rradius... so 10' diameter... and I agree with current it works great... on the lake to sit and cast you have to run all over the damn boat... if you put your big motor down it helps to keep your ass end from swinging around
