Poor choice for a background and his feet are disturbing.

The feet are a dead giveaway that this angler is a cyborg. Only someone without a human heart could fathom keeping that 131# spawning machine and removing it from what would otherwise be a world-class paddlefish fishery.

Weigh station and foot representation should not prevent a quality photo.

It appears this fish had not dropped it's eggs and now all are dead.

What do you do with them? Are they edible? It's definetly on the bucket list.

The eggs will be made into fairly high grade caviar. Not a lot of edible meat for its size. Carries a lot of "red meat" that will give you a world class gut ache, the edible stuff can be cooked many different ways. It's good smoked for sure and shake and bake isn't bad. It's no walleye or perch for sure.

I agree. I always heard how good they are, kinda like ling. They both taste like poop.

My buddy was chasing paddle fish this weekend and this was caught 200 yards down the bank from my friend. 132 is what he told me it weighed. Damn monster!! I wonder how old this fish is?

Listen, if any of us were up there and snagged this PIG of a fish we would all consider mounting it. Ugly? Hell yeah. Once it's gaffed, it isn't going back to the river anyway; might as well process it / get 'er stuffed (literally speaking, too)!

Paddlefish is okay for consumption only a few ways. We had a group of 10 guys go up and the first one landed was the one eaten for dinner. We made a beer batter and deep fried the chunks. What doesn't taste good with a beer batter, anyway!?!?! The portions were salted with sea salt and then a dip made up mix of ketsup, miracle whip, and some relish. When you have three, or more, beers by supper it even tastes gourmet!

It's a wonderful thing to see a picture of these monsters. The pike from Devils Lake a few weeks ago and now this paddlefish. I love it...
