Trouble with Minnkota Terrova US2 transducer

I'm having trouble with my US2 transducer not working properly, Could it be bad? I have checked all the connections and all looks good. Is there a way to trouble shoot it? thanks. I have it hooked up to my HDS 8 networked to hds12 touch. I have the choice to read the rear transducer, but don't really care about the back of the boat when I'm fishing up front!

With the unit on (and sonar on) can you hear any ticking noises coming from the Terrova transducer? I usually can pickup a very light with fast pace "tick,tick,tick" when the transducer is operating.

I tried trouble shooting it at the boat landing, there was no noise from transducer. I just bought the boat this spring and I'm not familiar with lowrance products, I have been running Humminbird my whole life. So maybe I switched or turned something off. I look into it more this evening.
