Please get a training collar ASAP: It will save your voice in the early years and instill "COME" as "good" instead of "maybe/maybe not" aggravated correction. "NO" can be instilled at close range at this age. IMHO, "NO/COME" are the most important commands and can be utilized together. Checkcords are fine but lack the immediacy of a training collar IMHO.

I type this as I've effed it all up and got a dog killed in front of my kids the day after Christmas.

Ha I hear you. While we were looking for a pup, yesterday was a big surprise. At about 1 I checked bisman, and seen I had a message. At 6 we were in Bismarck picking up the pup. So far so good, my other dog n two cats still don't known what to think.
