I was wondering what the best way to target crappie or any other panfish on the river is? I havnt tried for crappie in several years but those times were during the spawn on a lake, never tried a river before.

i would imagine it would be easier with a boat but i dont have one lol

I dont think your going to catch any panfish in the river. Maybe some of the bays in town or head south to where there is less current.

Crappies on the river it's self are not really something you can target. Like said you'll find some in the bays and cutoff areas but they are often fairly small. Head down to beaver or cattail and put on a slip bobber and a minnow and move around till you find them. They are very structure oriented so look for steep breaks, rocks and flooded trees and fish off the bottom since crappies normally facing up at a 45 degree angle.
