No idea about walleye in Battle. But a mile north in Annie Battle you will have some awesome panfishing. Nice size and numbers in there.

Night time on sandy shores or reefs with sparse reeds using shallow and or suspending crank baits. Look for 3-6 feet of water and make LONG casts parallel to the weeds. Day time..............panfish like Big J suggested.

First time I've seen Annie Battle mentioned on the www. We've vacationed at Ottertail for 25+ years and AB was closed for about 5 years in the mid-90s and we fished it right after it opened (as part of a new state park) and it was full of 13-14" crappies. That was about 1997. Lasted a few years but it seems like anything over 10" is fairly tough to come by now - very small lake I'm sure it got fished out of the big ones. Still a fun lake though, no motors or electronics allowed and no boat landing. Lots of bass too. They do rent canoes and row boats pretty cheap.

Never have fished West Battle but it seems like you hear decent reports. All of those lakes around there have their moments it seems. Make sure to try Zorbaz nachos.
