I have traditionally humped around with capped windage and elevation knobs. However, I have a Leupold scope I really like that has tall M1 windage and elevation turrets instead of capped knobs. Think I may replace the scope for fear that I'll blow a shot because a turret got bumped. I tend to get off my ass and push thick cover to get to deer. This usually means a fast shot at a moving deer, no time for fiddling with knobs.

Seems everyone I talk to has a story about sausage lost because of an exposed turret. What's the verdict? Care to share a story about your experiences?

Jury rigged caps just like the waterproof chart on your stock.

More doing, less talking, less reading, less internet research.
