I'm looking at the new ranger 621FS with the 350 verado on the back
keeping my onix 10, 8 and 360

additions:
1- onix 10 (addition to the other 2)
1- power pole with drift paddles
2- tripple trolling tree's
full rails around the boat
112# ulterra +Link
wash down system
8 ram mounts
1- 15hp kicker
troll master
Jack plate
keel guard
butt pedistal seat

probable additions:
smooth move seats
blacked out tinted windshield

i know i'm going to be told to look at yar craft, warrior, skeeter, etc. I have and from my experience I think that I will be happiest in the Ranger (plus I don't have to get a new life jacket)

Thinking it'll help keep electronics cooler and out of the direct sunlight

Nice looking boat, sat at a light in Pierre Sunday morning next to a guy pulling a 621 with a 350, etc... I stopped next to the boat to drool.

If you fish early and late(spring and fall with cool temps), the full windshield will be a lot more comfortable. A guy can plug the gap under the center shield and add a heater if need be.

BTW, nice looking rig.

I'm just curious as to why just the one power pole. I'm assuming the kicker would get in the way of having 2 power poles. I have 2 power poles on a bass boat. That's why I ask. I had one on it when I got it and quickly learned that having only one is good but having 2 is perfect.

Also, I used have drift paddles on mine. I think they would work wonders for trolling and using them in place of a drift sock. However, I would believe that only having one on the boat would make the boat sort of kick sideways while having the drift paddle deployed. Actually, I know that for a fact. Just in case you haven't considered that or maybe its not really a big deal to you. I'm not a walleye guy. Those are just my observations.

On a side note, my neighbor just bought a 2007 Reata with a 225 Vrod. Very impressed with that boat.

the power pole thing is because of the kicker you are 100% correct... I do want 2 but with the kicker and 360 there is no room (kind of a monstrosity) and almost debating not getting it but for instances like the casino tournament if i would have had one I know I would have been able to target some bigger fish in shallow (I used all my trolling motor batteries early)

I like the custom colors. Good looking rig. I like the tinted windshield. I might go to that Myself. I just wonder how hot that baby will get in the middle of the summer. I have mostly interior neutral colors and it gets hot! Bimini top might be perfect for the smoking hot days

I didn't think you could get that with a 350. At least their website doesn't show it.

I will tell you that the 350 on the back of my ZV21 is an awesome motor. I'm very impressed with it.

The ranger 621 was rerated for the 350 this year.- - - Updated - - -If I was buying another new boat id recommend getting new electronics at the same time. Not only does it keep you with the latest and greatest it is a benefit to you when you sell your current rig.

I saw on the site they said "350 in Verado only". I imagine it is a weight thing because the Yamaha 350 is a V8 an weighs a bit more.

all my humminbird stuff is 4 months old and i will still sell my old boat with the lowrance that came with it... on that note, the dealer did say that the onix is probably going away so if i hold off on ordering it the upgraded electronics might be the better option... I'm stalling at this point and the current boat will be on the market next week (cleaned and photos)

Keep us updated. I want to see that bad boy in person. How far out are they on a build and delivery time?

After fishing out of a reata during the dwc, I would never get one as I see myself continuing with this tournament thing a couple times a year. They are not made for exclusively fishing. Nice boat, good ride, quick enough, but one broken rod, no room for tackle trays, and the rod locker is a joke. bimini top was essential during prefishing, however. Either way, the new fs621 that I poked my head in while waiting to fill gas had so many "little" changes to help in fishing, it made my mind up that in 10-30 years, when my wife says I can have a different boat, I'll stay away from the fish/ski models.

DirtyMike,

Sorry, but you'll be reconsidering the Fish/Ski models as the kid grows and wants to tube, etc. Life is a balance. A fishing rig is about as good at tubing as a tubing boat is at fishing.

On second thought, you'll just need another boat. ;:;rofl I think I am already there with my current crew.
