I hope they bring it home. Bismarck has consistent baseball talent up to this age group, then they hit high school and get exposed to our buzz-saw of shitty coaches and our development falls apart.

The bad part of Carson Wentz getting drafted so high was that he took Zach with him. Zach was a baseball guy through and through and could have had a big impact on Bismarck Sr Baseball.

sounds like the 14ers are losing their coaches after this year too. Apparently they are UMary students, graduating and moving on from what I understand. Ouch!!

oops coach Grothe pitched for Minot State if i recall correctly.

2 college students, both are good kids that played for Century but had never coached before. Those coaching positions are completely seasonal. I could see them coaching again next summer though.

Sorenson pitching the 4/5th combined 2 hitter
Leingang pitching the bottom of the 7th

Bis first 5 runs on one hit (lotsa walks).

They play tomorrow against the home team at 4:30 eastern/3:30 central.

the boys won their first game today, game 2 of pool play by a score of 9-6. their record in pool play is 2-0

Game over. Bismarck Wins 6-3 to go 3-0 in pool play. Connor Hanson pitches 6 great innings and Feeney comes in to pitch the 7th. Hanson gets the MVP of the game.

10:30 am game on Sunday and a 8 am game on Monday to finish pool play. Good luck Caps!!

Appears Williston handled em in the world series opener. From the Williston Herald:

It’s not often that one player can simply take over a game. But against the Midwest Plains champion Bismarck, Williston’s Zach Carson did just that in the Voyagers 4-0 win.

From the mound, he was sensational. He tossed a complete game shutout, allowing seven hits and striking out two.

From the plate, he also chipped in. He went 2 for 4, scored a run and had an RBI.

yes! 15 Y.O. babe ruth World Series is in Williston, 14 Y.0. is in Westfield Mass.

14ers are down 2-1 after 6 innings against a team from Portland Maine.

I don't have a dog in that fight (15 Y.O.) so to speak so I'm just reporting on what i'm watching. Our grand nephew plays for the 14 Y.O. team...Go Caps!!

Couple of hockey players calling the game. They don't know a squeeze bunt from a sacrifice bunt; keep calling Bismarck ND team Bismarck Maine; call the second baseman the shortstop......lmao. at least they are streaming the game!!

Bismarck gets beat in their fourth game of pool play. Portland beats them 2-1. Both teams have the same 3-1 record in pool play and obviously Portland has the tiebreaker. One game of pool play left.

the 14 year old Capitals team from Bismarck won their game today 12-8. Portland Maine who beat them earlier in the same pool lost today. So Bismarck has the best record in the American pool. They get a day off tomorrow and wait for the lower seeds to come out of the brackets to get to them. WTG CApitals!!
