In .375 pass me a Talkeetna or M70. For $7K+ I could have 2 of each, scoped.

You know me and the SXS deal...This is a great buy for a dbl rifle. I'd love to stalk cattails with one. Wish they made "deer" calibers. If I had all the jack necessary, I could live with the .375 and ridicule.

I also wish it were a true sidelock with detachable plates but could live with this also.

That IS cute and IMHO a very expensive piece to have leaning beside a door for varmints. Aren't all Dakota's missing a trigger?

If I could get a set of 7x57 bbls reasonably for my 20ga SilverHawk frame I'd seriously consider it. One trigger is just enough.

That would be a nice gun without achieving full beauty and class potential.

Each bbl should be served individually.

Who would pay $7000+ for a rifle? Depends. If I were planning a trip to Africa for dangerous game it would have to be a consideration. For most of the continental US, not so much. In a lot of our hunting we are used to longer shots in which a scoped rifle is the better choice and far easier to shoot accurately. A scope on a double just doesn't look right.

In North Dakota, who needs a .375? With need being the operative word I would say No One. Then again how many of us buy only the stuff we need? Not me for sure.

Is $7000 expensive for a gun? For most of us I'm sure it is. Then again there are a whole bunch of people and I'm sure members on this site who fish out of a $50,000+ boat. And they"re not towing it with cheap trucks. Expensive is always in the eye of the beholder and what you can get away with without your wife discovering the full price.

I would never defile a gun like that with a scope. As said before, this would be fast and handy in cattails/heavy brush.
I don't reckon a .375 would do much more than a 12ga slug. If I had my druthers I'd go with a lighter caliber of course. 7 Mauser would be cool.

The .375 is actually very versatile from a bolt gun. It has essentially the same ballistics as an '06. The above double rifle is not meant to be shot much beyond 75 yds. It's basically a neat slug gun.

He needs a 375 for big grizzlies and Cape Buffalo. When someone tells him there aren't any of those in ND, he can reply "See it worked."
