I am a single stage guy but if going turret I would have to go the Redding route.

I'm at a loss to understand why anyone considering a turret press wouldn't just buy a Forster Co-Ax.

Years ago I had the Lyman turret press. I always felt like there was a little play in the head that certainly would not add to accuracy. I have loaded about 2000 rounds this year all on a RCBS Rockchucker.

I think they are OK. The ram doesn't travel up and down nearly as easily as my Rockchucker. I contacted Lee about the problem and was told it would smooth out after I used the press for awhile, hasn't happened yet. But the price wasn't bad and I only load up plinking rounds for my pistols on it so it works just fine for my needs. Never have loaded any rifle rounds on it, for those I use the Rockchucker, so not sure how well the Classic would work for that.

Having snooped around yours, I have to agree. That was my plan until I stumbled across the Lyman for $90.

One consideration for the choice of press would be if you want to be able change out shell holders. I have different sizes of shellholders that can be used to adjust headspace.

That can also easily be done with any full length sizing die and a headspace gauge. I don't worry about it much as my headspace is set via land engagement and the false shoulder created by a partial neck size. A firm seat of the casehead upon the boltface makes me happy.

If you really want to solve your questions, I suggest you confide in the wisdom of Nean Delson.

I have a Lee Classic Turret, was just wondering if anybody else head one to see what they thought of it. PrairieGhost I have a old Lyman All-American Turret press and mine also has play in the turret head haven't used it in years, just can't part with it

I would like a Forester Co-ax, but the price is steep and I always have other priorities. Right now I want a 6 to 24 Vortex pst for the new toy. 20160910_172546_001.jpg

Savage model 10 BA Stealth in 6.5 Creedmoor. Supposedly it's factory blueprinted like a custom gun from a smith. It does shoot .2 to .3 inches off the bipod with the Hornady 143 gr ELD-X.

SDMF was nice enough to lend me his new labradar when i needed a chronograph for my custom leupold cap. That unit is amazing and keeps a log of shot velocities (including shots out to 100 yards with my .270 and 25 yards with my .22-50/1:8/75). For example my .270 avg velocity was around 3110 at the muzzle and 2996 at 100. I shot 23 shots with the soon to be antelope killer and the unit calculated all the shooting variables and made a nice display showing the results. The results can also be saved. And i love lamp.
