Now that might be literal in my case as I recover from surgery but sitting here flipping through the pics from last year is starting to get me pumped up. Won't make it out for awile possibly as late as mid Oct but that's no reason not to start getting wound up. So here are a few of my hunting/scouting pics from last year and would love to see yours and the story's that go with them.

So start with scouting down in pipeline land last Sept with the new boat. IMG_20150919_085528812.jpg
Pushed out into the smartweed two see if we could get some woodducks and had ourselves a good time.IMG_20150926_092056385_HDR.jpg got a couple decent ones.IMG_20150927_083302124.jpg

This was my favorite spot to hunt mid to late Oct last year. Lots of ducks of just about every species from puddle to divers, geese and swans.

This spot also made for an unbelievable sunrise that I'm thinking of having blown up into a poster.

The the birds started working and we just went about trying to pick out all drakes especially trying to get the whitest spoonbill we could get.:;:cheers

Man theres just something to be said about a spot like that where the competition is low the bottom on the water is made of Rock and Sand so you can wade wherever you want and the birds come swinging by doing their thing but this time it's often different species that you normally wouldn't see you went out in the field. We were able to drive to the shore drop decoys and blinds and sit back and have a truly laid back just all around fun duck hunting with none of the baggage that seems so common out in the fields so much now that just seem to SAP much of the fun out of it.

I'm seriously jacked for duck hunting to kick off. My kiddo has been jabbering on and on about wanting to come with, and I can't wait to make that happen.

Hopefully will get out and scout Wednesday evening for a bit to make sure our opener spot is good to go. I do hope the rain holds off. We've had enough.
