I’m looking for a better stock for my Remington 700 – 7mm Rem Mag.
This will be used for some long-range bench shooting, but also some hunting.

Criteria:
-Long Action
-Integrated bedding block
-Not crazy heavy
-$400 or less – there is some stupid-expensive stuff out there…
-Left Handed – this appears to be the primary limiting factor. I really like the looks of the Magpul Hunter stock, but they don’t appear to have a left hand option. I believe this (and the lack of left handed guns in general) is due to all you ignorant sumbitches out there that are left-eye dominant, but stubbornly shoot right handed. -- I might be a little bitter about that...

And go…

Bell and Carlson Tactical Medalist or HS Precision M24 Vertical Grip Varmint Tactical.

You're price range keeps you out of Manners/McMillan territory.

I'll pass on having an embedded vibration chamber (bedding block).

Keep saving or watch McMillan's sale page. McMillan, Brown, or Manners in no particular order with the understanding that you're gonna skim glass the lug and the tang.

I do it again I will order a blank and send it to LRI to have it inletted and beded. Chad does some amazing work with his precision machining.

Happy with my H-S Precision in Remington 700 long action, drop in bedding block, sub m.o.a. accuracy, and somewhat reasonable in price...

I'm sure you're right. I'm just having a hard time justifying paying more for a stock than I did for the whole gun...

just get a bell and carlson. might need to do some minor fitting work with a file and or sandpaper. Bed the recoil lug and the tang with jb weld and you'll be good to go. easy peasy
