Okay I have been trying for a few days to try and find loading differences between the two and can't find nothing. Any information or questions about lobolax always gets hijacked into a thread about moly bullets. I don't care even a little bit about that information.

So my question is has anyone loaded the two bullets in the same weight and worked up a max load for each bullet? If so was there any difference in the max charge on the silver tips? Also if anyone has cronograghed the two with max load speed for your gun you used that info would be great. Just curious if there is any difference in max speed between the two

I did in my .308 and with 150 and could not tell any difference. In speed or performance. Killed my biggest deer to date with the silver tip but have moved on from them

I have loaded both out of my .308, 168 gr bullets, using imr 4064, lapua brass, and cci BR2 primers. My results using 43.7 grains of powder, ballistic silvertip grouped slightly better at 100 yards (0.33 4 shot group), ballistic tip was (0.52 4 shot group), I noticed for both of them the bolt started sticking at around 45.8 grains of powder. (Lapua cases always reduce the charge by 1 to 1.5 grains due to less volume). So out of a federal case that would be about 46.8 grains if not slightly higher. These were all worked up from 40.0 grains. I was getting around the 2700 mark for velocity. They both were almost identical in velocity. Hope this helps.

Krhuntin I find less volume in Federal than Winchester or Remington. I have only used Lapua brass in 6.5x284. I'm curiouse if you have also found that difference. I only ask out of curiosity since you found even less powder capacity in the Lapua.
Buckhunter I also have found no difference in my 270win, 308, or 300win mag.

Absolutely, federal had less volume than Winchester for sure, have never messed with Remington as the necks have been too soft for me to work with. Lapua still has less than federal, which in turn for me reaches those max pressures quite quickly.

I have very few Remington brass and don't know if I remember correctly. I think Remington and Winchester were the same if my memory is correct.
For my 6.5x284 I have Lapua and Winchester 284 resized to 6.5x284. Tomorrow I will have to make a comparison. I have not changed my loads, but they both strike the same at 800 yards. I'll have to chronograph when it gets warmer.

Checked out my Lapua and Winchester brass minutes ago. It must vary by cartridges because my Winchester had less capacity than my Lapua.
I used a TAC a very uniform ball powder and trickled both brass full with a 4 inch drop tube. 20170214_181650_001.jpg20170214_181849_001.jpg

Thats crazy, have you completed the water volume test at all? fill them both with water? that is what i had done with federal and lapua cases. Maybe i should try it again, been around 8 months since i have done it. Now ya got me ponderin
