hmm..seems a bit confusing in regs.

It is illegal to fish with any spring, lever, chemically, electrically, or mechanically triggered hook at any time. The use of any mechanical device to automatically retrieve the fish is also illegal. Any device directly connected to the fishing rod that sets the hook is legal as long as it does not reel in (retrieve) the fish.

We went through this last year. From what I gathered it is legal in ND because it is not a mechanical mechanism that sets the hook.

We just got a couple I Fish Pros. They have been kind of fun. I like them for walleyes so far. and they are perfectly legal in ND and MN

That's not too confusing. An auto hook set is legal. An auto reel is illegal

SE ND.
I do believe they are legal in ND beings they are not actually mechanical setting the hook. I have used one before and they do a nice job and you don't have deep hooked fish very often.

Just got the IFishPro's for the contest in the mail today. They look legit. I'm going to order a few. I have been wanting to run more tip ups, anyhow when the kids are with.

The Ifish pro's are also on sale on Cabelas for 25.99 instead of 40. Had to pick myself up a couple.

I'm not sure I qualify for an Ifish Pro. How does one know when they reach pro status?
