Wondering if anybody has any thoughts or comments they'd be willing to share on the P220 in .22LR caliber? Found a used one for $400 and thought it'd be nice for eliminating the occasional cottontail, skunk or raccoon. Especially if they're in tight quarters inside the barn where my scoped .22 is less than ideal. Thanks in advance for any help.

Rimfirecentral.com should have all the info you need on any .22 pistol or rifle. Easy to navigate. I think they even have a forum dedicated to that particular model.

Have you looked at the new Ruger Mark IV? Perfect pistol for the occasional varmint. Make sure its a Mark IV though.

Those Ruger Mark IV are great around the farm and have that Ruger Rep for reliability.

I ran 3 clips through one of my buddies and he carries it around the farm for what you are talking about. He likes it and I couldn't complain about it. This was around 1yr ago and he had a lot of rounds before me and many many more after, with still no complaints

I have a ruger 22/45 that I carry when I'm mowing. Them little gophers don't have a clue. It is a accurate little gun and new price is about 400. IMG_0145.jpg

My vote would be a Ruger mk IV with a target barrel. I've got a mk II target barrel and love it. love the trigger and accuracy. Don't like reassembling it after cleaning but that's been improved with the mk IV.

Yes, this improvement, I understand, is a big deal. Big enough to make me think I need one.

I have the mark 3 and love it but it really sucks to clean. What is different about the 4?
