to the guys that have those mutiple units sitting on your dash 2 sometimes i see 3 ---- i gotta question --if I buy a new electronic networkable and connect it to my old one which is networkable. Do you put the new transducer on the back and somehow that old one uses that transducer??? or what??

My old one is nice its 9" .

Both units can share a transducer. Most use one unit for mapping and one for sonar, though.

Birds. Do you shut off the second transducer? If used as backup

Somewhere in my toys album is a hand drawn schematic of how I wired my boat.

To to answer your question, I have a 12" and a 9" graph on my dash and an 8" on the bow. I have them all networked via NEMA and Ethernet. The 8" uses the transducer from the trolling motor. The transducer on the transom is hooked directly to the 12" on the dash as is the side scan 3D transducer. The 9" is networked to the 12". In essence, the 12" 'drives' the dash graphs.

I think the way I have the graphs used in my boat is the most common. But it I can use each graph to see any and all transducers on the boat.
