Freeze Cancer Ice Fishing Derby Rules Sheet

1) Tournament is to be held on Saturday, March 4th On lake Sakakawea
- The rules meeting will be held at 10 AM at the Totten Trail Bar
- Registration for people registering the day of begins at 9 AM
- The tournament will start immediately following the rules meeting
- Weigh ins begins at 8:00 PM.
- Each team must check back in at the Totten Trail for weigh ins no later than 9:00 PM.
- If any team is late for weigh in, they will suffer a 2% weight deduction for each minute past 9:00 PM. After 9:15 any teams who fails to show up to weigh in will be disqualified.
- Any part of Lake Sakakawea is open to fishing but keep in mind the further you drive the less fishing time you will have to fish.
2) Walleye, Sauger, and Saugeye are the only legal species to be weighed in the tournament.
- All current ND Game and Fish Department Regulations MUST be followed! No exceptions
- Any breaking of state fishing rules or tournament rules is cause enough for disqualification.
- Any team who is disqualified (for any reason) will not be recieving thier entry fees back.
- This includes culling or hygrading fish.
3) A team is allowed to use 8 lines per team. (If a team has 3 members rather than 2 they still must comply with this rule and only use 8 lines!)
4) Hook and line is the only method which one may take fish
5) A team will be allowed to keep 7 walleyes. You will then weight your biggest 5 fish.
- Frozen fish will not be accepted. Any fish brought in to the weigh in early (prior to 8 P.M.) will be fin clipped (including any extra fish that are not weighed. *Refer to rule above*)
- After a team weighs thier fish they are able to keep those fish for themselves.
6) Payouts will be awarded to the top 5 places. This will be done on a percentage basis. (These totals are subject to change!!)
- 1st place: 25%
- 2nd place: 20%
- 3rd place: 15%
- 4th place: 10%
- 5th place: 5%
- There will also be a prize awarded to the team with the single biggest fish.
- Awards will be given at 9:30 PM inside the Totten Trail Bar. You do not need to be present to win.
7) It is highly recommended that you do not drink any alcohol while on the ice fishing in this tournament. This is a benefit tournament, and we do not want to have any accidents. We would like all fisherman to have a positive and safe experience fishing this tournament so that we can continue to put this tournament on for years to come. So again, we highly discourage the consumption of any alcohol during the tournament.
