I am trying to determine the value of a shot gun that I have. I have searched the internet and it seems like if you want the value of your firearm you have to buy a subscription to the website, as least the ones I have looked at.

Does anyone have any recommendations of where to look to get an accurate value of a gun?

Is it rare? If fairly common try searching Gunbroker.com and look at the completed listings. Everything is only worth what someone else is willing to pay so that should give you a good idea.

I wouldn't say it is rare, built in the early 90's I believe. Just thinking of selling it, so trying to get an idea of what the market is for it.

Since inquiring minds want to know, it's a Remington SP-10 Magnum, 26" barrel. Shoots 3-1/2, 10ga loads.

Based on completed auctions I would say somewhere around $800 + or - depending on condition.

That's about what I was thinking. I did see one sight that suggested around $1200 for the same model except with a 32" barrel. Mine is in excellent condition. Looks damn near brand new. Bought it 20 years ago, shot it a couple times and has been in a gun case ever since.

Does it come with shoulder surgery?

It's an awful lot more pleasant to shoot than any 3.5" 12ga! It shoots the same shot charge at the same velocity from a gun thats ~2-3# heavier, with a larger bore diameter, and gas operated. I had one for a little while in the late 90's and found it no worse than shooting 3" shells from a 12ga gas auto.

Odd how folks get all spun up about a 10ga and don't give a 2nd thought to 3.5" 12's.
