  3. Sak - East End/Mallard

Put in at Wolf Creek Sunday morning-ran around to north side of Mallard. Pitched jigs and plastics early then switched over to cranks...and the fun began! Pulled #9 Flickers in 16 to 24 fow...tried to stay between 1.8 and 2.2 mph. Ended up catching 6 walleye, 3 smallies, and 1 pike. Biggest walleye was 23.5 inches...back in the drink...couple small guys as well. Kept 3 between 17 and 19...water temps were 68 to 72 degrees. All in all not a bad day...have a great week folks!

  5. Sakakawea - VanHook

The wife, two of our kids, and I fished Friday afternoon through Sunday. We did well again off of Gull on Friday and Saturday, pulling crawlers in 16-20 fow. A lot of lunch fish with the occasional nicer fish.

On Sunday, my dad made the trip down to the cabin, and went fishing with us. We went out towards the river and pulled cranks in 25-28 fow and caught a pile of fish. That new Flicker Shad and Flicker Minnow color of Blue Shiner was outpacing everything else by quite a margin.

It still sounded like guys were doing well on a lot of the mid lake structure, but ...

  6. Indian Hills 6/17 to 6/21

My dad and I got to do our annual trip again this year. We decided to head out of Indian hills for the week to try and stay away from the craziness of van hook. We pulled bouncers in 12-16 feet bouncing out to 25 depending on the structure. We were surprised at how good the fishing was for this time of year. We had caught about 30 fish a day, most of them being over 19 inches with 2 to 3 a day being 25+. The biggest through the week was 29.25. Glad i got to spend the time with my dad.

  7. Van Hook - Father's Day Wknd

MORE NoDak wind.... Arrive Thursday evening and went out Fri/Sat/Sun. Fish are scattered and I didn't have any data of where the fish had previously been located. Started out going many sunken islands and shorelines. We were able to mark some groups and get one or two here/there but then they moved away.

Didn't get to harvest much the first two days until we found a deeper sunken island (25'-31' deep) and there they were. Finished up with smiles on our faces Saturday afternoon and returned Sunday morning. Everything we kept were 16"-20" and I released on after a photo ...

  10. Van Hook Arm

The wife, the kids, and I went out Thursday night. We got out late, since I had to work during the day. We tried a couple of spots along shorelines, and had little luck, so we decided to check some mid-lake structure and ended up doing real well off of Fox island. I think we ended up catching 20, or so ,that night, pulling slow death hooks, and pitching fake minnows on a jig into a wind blown point. Nicer fish, including a 26".

Friday we hit the same area and had a tougher time catching fish. We tried a couple of other mid-lake structure areas and ended up doing "okay". ...
