  1. Lake Sakakawea

Went to Lake Sak yesterday thinking they would be releasing water from Audubon but no water is flowing. How does one know if they are releasing water or not?

As far as a report goes, we caught many species of fish from the 7 sisters to the east end of mallard. Only other boats out were hunters! Caught two nice walleyes for the day.

  2. Bis-Man Missouri River

Heading out fishing tomorrow on the boat and have not been out in a month or two. Just seeing if North of Bis-Man or South of Bis-Man would be better. I'm not here to take anyones fishing spot or catch all the fish. I'm just a guy that dosn't get out much and can't fish everyday to track the fish and fish every little contour. Also, not asking for anyone to put the fish on my hook for me but just point me in the right direction. Thanks

Heading up to the tailrace / spillway tomorrow in the boat. Never fished up there before, so I am open to any suggestions or strategies on how to find and catch fish! Thanks.

  5. Central ND lakes

Any luck fishing the central ND lakes? The alkali lake south of spiritwood has been pretty good if you find the keepers, pulled in a lot of 10-12inchers. They seem to be moving around water temps differ depending on what side of the lake your on. Thinking of trying somewhere else this weekend maybe big mallard?
  6. Skunk Bay

Buddy and I put in at Skunk on 9-27. Went west. Tried 3-4 spots. Got bites in every spot we tried. Bites were very light and strange. Had to feed a lot of line. We used Lindys with minnows. Caught our fish from 27-33. Marked lots of fish from 20-40. Water temp was 62. No bites on jigging raps. We ended up with 4 keepers. Buddy threw back a 25-1/2. And we threw back about 8 little ones. Had a few Sauger mixed in. And about an 8 pound pike. Only fished about 3-3-1/2 hours because the rain was a pain in the ass.

  7. Lake Darling Perch

It’s a shame lake Darling closed September 30th. Went again on Saturday and other than being a little chilly, the fishing was great! We caught our limit of walleye before noon pulling spinners/BBs and crawlers as bait. Now for the bonus...I hadn’t caught any decent perch there since 2009 and we caught 12. We threw 2 back and kept 10. The two biggest were 13” and 14”. Can’t wait for iceName: 18E69E21-C654-4EF0-9B1C-EE2EAA48303A.jpg

  8. Sak - New Town

Buddy and I ran to New Town Friday 9/27...put in at the casino. Ran down to Hunts Along Bay...pulled spinners with crawlers and artificials...first found fish 18-22 fow later more shallow. Caught a lot of dinks...bigger fish maybe deeper? Buddy caught 2 nice fish with snap jigs. Water temps still 62-63...which surprised me. Not a bad day...for late September...hoping we get a nice warm up in October!

  9. Lake Darling

Started fishing around 8:00 A.M. and had our 2-man limit by 12. Pulled crank baits the 1st 1 1/2 hrs, which only produced two fish. Decided to try spinners w/ BBs. I figured this time of year minnows would be the ticket, but no. They only would take crawlers. The biggest was 22" and all were nice and fat. 1 bonus big ol' perch too!

  10. East End Sunday 22nd Sept.

Ramped at Totten and fished many spots all the way to the 7 sisters and only caught one little one in 50 feet of water. Smelt were almost non existent compared to the past. Graphed walleyes but they were not into jigging raps at all. First shutout on Sak for my son and I this year. Saw a couple paddle fish about 3 feet long become totally airborne for the highlight of the day.

  11. Tailrace, again.

3 of us hit the Tailrace today.
We had a pretty fun day. We caught a handful of HUGE carp, 1 burbot, 1 rainbow trout, a handful of catfish, some cisco, and some 'eyes. We kept 9 walleye on the day, using jiggin' raps by the spillway.

Water was 58-60 degrees. It was a real nice day to be on the water.

  12. Tailrace

A couple of us hit the Tailrace this morning. We only fished for a couple of hours, and ended up with six nice 'eyes. Finally got the tin can river rat boat on the water. I can happily report that no issues arose.

    We were using jiggin' raps.
