Anybody shooting the newer franchi shotguns? I had a couple of the first ones back in the 70's and they were decent guns but you had to keep em pretty clean. Any issues with the new ones

I just picked up a Beretta A400 28inch barrel synthetic. Scheels had a sale of $50 off, so it cost me a little less. I am happy.Hope that was helpfull

I have the Franchi Affinity I bought 2 years ago and I love it. It cycles about anything I run through it except them low recoil target loads. My buddy bought a case of em for us to shoot at clays and they didn't cycle worth a damn. I don't ever buy them low recoil loads so it's fine by me.

And I'm not the best at keeping my shotgun clean and I haven't had any problems with it YET.

Ditto. I have an older 912 Variomax (same as the new Affinity but mine is a 12ga) that uses the old gas system instead of inertia. Mine cycles everything great except low-recoil 2 3/4" loads. Standard 2 3/4" clay target loads work fine. It does need a quick 5 minute cleaning every couple hundred rounds. It suffered a broken firing pin recently and I bought a Beretta in a fit of "pissedoffatmyshotgun-itis" (I blame it on SDMF, Guywhofishes, and Kentucky Windage).

Bought a Franchi O/U about 7 years ago at Scheels. Darn thing wouldn't always fire the second barrel. Scheels returned the gun and I bought a Browning Citori. It's never failed me once.

I have a beretta A400 20 gauge I absolutely love. But I don't like the location of the safety. I can live with it in the 20 ga but while looking at the 12 ga because of the size difference the safety is even more forward. I have small hands and it's hard to reach. It might not be that big a deal with a waterfowl gun because you don't have your finger on it all the time like you do hunting upland birds. I like the feel of the franchi and the price. But didn't know if I would be disappointed after owning a beretta.

I looked at the franchi o/u and thought they were so light to the point of seeming flimsy. They did shoulder very well either. Ended up going with a beretta and love it.

I have the franchi highlander and absolutely love it! I am kind of different though and like a side by side better than an O/U. The highlander is an awesome gun, swings like none other and comes up nice into the shoulder. I am freaking lethal with it....there aren't too many roosters that get away from me! In all, I have nothing bad to say about the gun.

I have a Franchi Raptor and shot over 10,000 rounds with it 0 problems, I've used from trap to goose never a fail.
I also own a Instinct SL 20 gauge and it's become my favorite upland gun.

I could, it's a mile from my house. I understand we have to shoot their ammo. Any ideal how horrendous that will be?

I wondering if they have a special wad so they don't have a bunch of the plastic ones laying everywhere I have read that a lot of the ranges have gone back to the paper shotshells.

someone on facebook was claiming it was a way to determine how many clays were used. which makes no sense. If they are priced within reason it's no big deal. But everything out here is priced to retarded proportions. It'll be the beginning of the end if that's the case. things have slowed down and people aren't spending.
